How to ignite the charcoal

For a steady, even start, use a charcoal chimney starter and follow the grill manufacturer's instructions.

  1. Place the grill outdoors on a stable, non-combustible surface, away from buildings and overhanging branches.
  2. Fill a chimney starter with briquettes and place a suitable fire starter beneath it. Use only a product intended for charcoal grills.
  3. Light the fire starter carefully and let the briquettes heat until they are glowing and lightly ash-covered. Keep hands and face clear.
  4. Pour the hot briquettes into the grill using heat-resistant gloves or tools. Never add lighter fluid to lit or hot charcoal.
